UKCA cosmetic labeling and marking

Transition period extended!

On November 14th, 2022, the Government of the United Kingdom has extended the initial transition period for the UKCA cosmetic labeling and marking.

UK

Deadlines and what it entails

Here below more details about the extended transition period UKCA cosmetic labeling and marking:

  • UKCA marking requirements: until 31 December 2024 (previously 31 December 2023);
  • UKCA labeling, importer information, and Responsible Persons’ information: until 31 December 2027 (previously 31 December 2025).

One of the pros of this legislation is of course to enable existing stocks to make their way through the supply chain and reflects the typical shelf life of a cosmetics and business’ labeling cycles.

What to do?

We advise to consult the specific legislation as different rules apply for each product category.
