Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
Introduction
Safety Data Sheets (SDS), previously called Material Safety Datasheet (MSDS), are required for all hazardous substances or mixtures and are one of the most essential tools for hazards communication.

The Importance of a SDS?
While, usually, an SDS does not need to be supplied to the general public and therefore are not required for consumer products, it is always a good policy to have one for your products, hazardous or not.
Such SDS will provide much needed information like :
- Potential labelling requirements
- Transport classification
- The presence of regulated components
Moreover, many international transporters or customs will request product’s SDS and the absence of a valid SDS may result in your products being held at customs or in a transporter’s warehouse.

How to Obtain a SDS?
Making a compliant SDS is complex and must be done using specialized software and a database with expensive license fees.
If you don’t have the volume and expertise necessary to make your own SDS, Biorius offers hazard evaluation and SDS authoring services and can provide compliant SDS across the world according to the different regulations.
