Georgia, Iceland, Israel, Lichtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey & Ukraine
The above-mentioned countries recognize the European Cosmetics Regulation and, for the most part, the overall European cosmetics regulatory framework. Therefore, products notified in the CPNP can be sold in these countries. However, additional requirements must be met depending on the target market.
REGISTRATION OF COSMETICS IN SWITZERLAND
The EU regulatory cosmetics requirements also extend to Switzerland. If the product is EU-compliant, notified in the CPNP, represented by an EU Responsible Person and sold in the EU (with proof, e.g., invoices), there is no need to acquire a new notification or a new Responsible Person in Switzerland, and the product can be freely distributed in this country. This is in accordance with what is referred to as the “Cassis de Dijon” principle.
REGISTRATION OF COSMETICS IN ICELAND, LICHTENSTEIN, NORWAY AND TURKEY
The above four countries follow the same cosmetics regulations as the EU. A cosmetic product that meets EU requirements is also considered compliant in the above-mentioned countries.
However, even if a product is notified in the EU, it will still need a new local Responsible Person, and a new notification is needed in the country where the cosmetic is sold.
