Subject: Publication of the 49th Amendment to the IFRA Code of Practice
This week, the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) published the End of Consultation Letter related to the 49th Amendment to the IFRA Code of Practice. The list of the 125 new and revised IFRA standards is available in the annex of the Consultation Letter.
The impact of this amendment on the fragrance industry is massive and, for this reason, IFRA decided to grant special transition periods:
- 13 months for new creations of fragrance compounds
- 25 months for the reformulation of existing fragrance compounds
These deadlines start to run at the date the Notification Letter is published. The Notification Letter is published within 8 weeks following the End of Consultation Letter.
From February 2022, BIORIUS will require IFRA Certificates complying with the 49th Amendment for all fragrances and aromas.
We hope that this letter will provide you with helpful information. Should you have any questions, please, do not hesitate to contact your dedicated Account Manager.
