The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) published the Notification Letter related to the 49th Amendment to the IFRA Code of Practice. The numerous requirements of this Amendment will be enforced on January 10th, 2020. All fragrances will have to comply with the 49th IFRA Amendment within 25 months.
Although IFRA Standards are self-regulation, the European Authorities consider that compliance with IFRA Standards is a prerequisite to fulfill Article 3 of the European Cosmetics Regulation. Therefore, we encourage you to contact your fragrance suppliers and ensure that this aspect is secured without undue delay.
Please, be aware that IFRA Certificates of the 48th Amendment (and prior amendments) will not be accepted anymore after February 2022. Your Account Managers and Regulatory Experts will regularly remind you about this deadline.
Should you have any questions, please, do not hesitate to contact your dedicated Account Manager.
